Local 4-H Group Volunteers To Make Hospital
Patio Bloom
Recently,
members of Linden’s Kountry Kousins 4-H group volunteered
their time and talents to create a more welcoming outdoor
patio area at Upland Hills Health. Armed with gardening tools
and flats of flowers, the members of the group turned the
patio area into a magnificent display for patients, visitors
and employees to enjoy.
Their generosity did not stop there. Following planting,
the members also assembled care packages for children who
are patients at the hospital to help pass the time away.
They gave out items that such as coloring books, silly putty,
pencils and other things that are sure to bring a smile to
a face in need.
“The number one reason the group wanted to volunteer
at Upland Hills Health was to do something that gave back
to the community that would also be a lot of fun,” stated
Tammy Rule, Co-leader of Kountry Kousins and Director of
Inpatient Services at Upland Hills Health. In order to ensure
that their project is well maintained, group members will
be returning to care for the flowers.
Kountry Kousins is led by Tammy Rule and Karen Parish. Ten
members of the group donated their time and talents.
Upland Hills Health would like to thank Kountry Kousins 4-H
group for donating their time and flowers to the patio area
and for the care bags.
