Liz Johnson, Licensed Athletic TrainerIf you’ve ever thought about running a 5K, but aren’t really sure how to start training, or need some group motivation, here’s your chance! Liz Johnson, Licensed Athletic Trainer in our Wellness Center will be leading a 5K Training Club starting on June 13th, for runners (or not) of any level! Whether you’ve never run a day in your life, or you have set your sights on a 5K goal, Liz can help.

Liz has running-specific experience and has worked as a trainer for the Arizona State University track team. This 5K training opportunity is a 9-weekgroup-based training intended to get you ready to complete a 5K event by the end of summer. The training club is open to anyone 18 or older.

Liz will also be conducting Runner’s Assessments for runners looking for a tool for improvement. The assessment will evaluate the runner’s flexibility and strength using a computerized program, as well as address any past or current injuries. Runners will leave the assessment with a video analysis and a running shoe recommendation.

For more information or to sign up for either running opportunity, please call the Therapyy& Wellness Center at 930-7147.
