Upland Hills Health Auxiliary enjoys Overture
Concert excursion
On May 4th the Upland Hills Health Auxiliary members were
bound for Madison where they enjoyed an Overture Center concert.
Upon their return to Dodgeville, the volunteers were treated
to a free “thank you” lunch at the Upland Hills
Health Center Café.
“This field trip is just one of the fun ways we like
to show the volunteers our appreciation,” explained
Erin Groshek the hospital’s volunteer coordinator.
The auxiliary members were treated to a musical performance “The
King of Instruments Meets the Instruments of Angels” featuring
the Overture Concert Organ played by Samuel Hutchinson and
harp played by Mary Ann Harr. This classical music was followed
by the whimsical antics of a juggler called the Truly Remarkable
Loon and a western music duet—KG and the Ranger.
Keeping with the western theme set by KG and the Ranger,
the group finished the excursion with a barbecue sandwich
lunch at the hospital café.
Awards were presented to volunteers for their many hours
of service. Upland Hills Health enjoys a team of over 50
volunteers that put in over 4400 hours in 2005,doing everything
from managing the gift shop to assisting with the comfort
of patients.
