Upland Hills Health Healthcare Excellence in Your Community

Benish-Wolfe receives $500 Upland Hills Health Scholarship

Tammy Benish-Wolfe a Highland Rescue Squad EMT, and Upland Hills Health employee will receive the Upland Hills Health Scholarship award on March 7th at Southwest Technical College’s (SWTC) 12th Annual Scholarship and Awards Ceremony.

Benish-Wolfe started her career at Upland Hills Health working at the admissions desk and then later in the Emergency Room. “Tammy’s hard work and positive attitude is a real asset to the Upland Hill Health team. I am so happy we are able to support her in her pursuit of a nursing degree” commented Carol Ann Kreul, RN, Director of Critical Care Services.

Each year Upland Hills Health awards a $500 Scholarship to a nursing student at the college. “It’s just one effort we’ve made to help support the future of healthcare in our community” stated Human Resources Director Troy Marx.  Marx also noted that “SWTC is so important to the healthcare services that are offered in Southwestern Wisconsin that we felt it was necessary in 2004 to begin an Endowment Fund to assist local students in continuing their healthcare education.”

It is the goal of the hospital to continually grow the Scholarship Endowment Fund each year to offer more scholarships in the future.  Additional charitable contributions can be made to this fund by any person or group and will be added to the principal.  The Endowment is set up through the Foundation Department at SWTC or by contacting the Hospital’s Human Resource Department at 608-930-8000 ext. 4050.
