Upland Hills Health professionals honored
with awards at recent WRAP conference
Two of Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center’s team
were honored with awards at the annual WRAP (Wisconsin Representatives
of Activity Professionals).
Steve McCarthy, Director of Strategic
Operations at Upland Hills Health, also served as interim
Administrator of the Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center
until August 31, 2006. His outstanding leadership and exemplary
work at the Nursing & Rehab
Center earned McCarthy the prestigious Administrator of the
Year.
“I cannot imagine life in a Nursing Home without Activity Professionals.
The mere existence of the human spirit on all levels demands
social interaction,” explains
McCarthy, “What sets a Nursing Home apart is the activity
programming. The activity professionals here do not consider
this a job, it is their mission.”
Tina Rikli-Touir has served as the activities assistance
for the nursing and rehab center for over 3 years. Known
for going the extra mile and improving the quality of life
for all residents, Rikli-Touir was honored with the Professional
Award of Excellence. “My residents are very important
to me.” stated
Rikli-Touir. “Laughter is a very important aspect of
a person’s life
and I like to provide that for my residents.
Both McCarthy and Rikli-Touir received their awards at the
Activities Professionals 2006 Fall Conference held at the
Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Winning of these prestigious awards means McCarthy and Rikli-Touir are automatically
nominated for the NAAP national activities professional awards.
