Isaacson to become President-elect of the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Laura _Isaacson _Nutrition _300pxl[Dodgeville]  Laura Isaacson, Director of Nutrition and Culinary Services at Upland Hills Health was recently elected, President-elect for the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (WAND).  Her term will begin June 1, 2017.   She has held numerous leadership roles at the regional, state, and national level and is a prior recipient of WAND’s Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award and was recognized as a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Laura and her family are residents of Mount Horeb. She is employed at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, and often provides consultations and presentations at schools in the surrounding communities.  

Isaacson has enjoyed volunteering with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in a variety of roles. She has served as the Wisconsin Delegate to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Medical Nutrition Practice Group, and President of the Madison District Dietetic Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Fifth Season Cooperative and previously served on the Board of Directors for The Healthy Classrooms Foundation and The Montessori Children’s Community School. 

The Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is an organization of nutrition professionals providing expert food and nutrition services to the residents of Wisconsin.  WAND is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, consisting of approximately 1,650 nutrition experts commonly known as Registered Dietitians (RD), Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN), and Dietetic Technicians Registered (DTR).  To learn more, visit www.eatrightwisc.org.
