Swing Bed Rehabilitation and Recovery Care
Swing bed is a comprehensive, skilled care and rehabilitation program that provides transitional care for patients who may need additional medical help following an illness or surgery. Swing bed is available right in our hospital, allowing you to stay close to home and near friends and family as you recover.
Our goal through swing bed is for you to return home safely with the physical and occupational function you’ll need. A typical swing bed stay averages one to two weeks.
During your stay, your physician directs your care and works closely with our team of nurses, nurse case managers, therapists, nursing assistants, medical social workers, dietitians and other medical staff to give you access to:
- 24-hour nursing care
- Pain management
- IV treatments
- Patient education
- Wound care
- Rehabilitation services
- Coordinated care and services before your return home
- End of life care
