The aim: to create better babysitters and keep kids safer. The action: Safe Sitter training.
Upland Hills Health is once again offering Safe Sitter courses to area youth between 11 and 13 years old, to teach essential babysitting skills, choking assistance and CPR for infants and children.
Safe Sitter graduates learnhow to handle life-threatening emergencies, how to keep themselves safe and how to understand and deal with children of all ages. They even learn about the business aspect of babysitting. Safe Sitters are more confident and capable caregivers.
Openings are available for the two-day Safe Sitter class on July 20 and 21, but spots fill fast. The cost for the class is $40 per sitter. For more information, click here. To sign up, please call Amber Black at 930-7165.
