On August 25, the United Fund Board held its meeting at Upland Hills Health. At the conclusion of the meeting, the board members were given a tour of Upland Hills Health. The tour included viewing of fluid status monitors in Home Care and portable computer stations in Dialysis, which were purchased with grant monies from the United Fund of Iowa County.

Kopp Family Shows Appreciation for Upland Hills Hospice with Gift |

Gail Kopp was first diagnosed with cancer in 1991 in her right breast; then in 1996, a new cancer in her left breast, which led to a malignant tumor in her brain in 1998. After brain surgery, she was cancer-free for 10 years until she was diagnosed with cancer again in January 2008—this time terminal pancreatic cancer. After all she’d endured, Gail was determined to live her days to their fullest.

The endowment for the scholarship was established by Upland Hills Health last year, after the tragic death of Diane Schaaf, Home Care nurse at Upland Hills Health and wound care instructor at SWTC.

The registry will allow researchers to track individual patients, care effectiveness, and outcomes for different demographic groups. In short, the results could greatly impact and facilitate improvement and effectiveness of care by monitoring historical results. |

Those items are finding a new home in Nicaragua. Father Miller, a priest in the LaCrosse, WI area, is collecting our unneeded furniture, medical equipment and more, including an X-ray machine, a suction machine, a Hoyer lift, and hospital cribs. |

Hinsley is an ENT (Ear, Nose Throat) specialist, who completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. His practice interests include: pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck tumors and oncology, laryngology and voice disorders, and thyroid disease. |

Silvan William Wiedenhoeft made his arrival at 1:17 am on January 4, making him the first baby born at Upland Hills Health in 2008. He was born a healthy 9 lbs, 11 oz and 22 1/2 inches long to Kristina and Alex Wiedenhoeft of Mineral Point. |
