Emergency Care Carts for pediatric patients raise the standard of care and safety to the next level

Emergency care carts—carts that house all the necessary medications and tools for the first critical minutes of an emergency situation—are standard protocol. But the colorful emergency care carts just installed at Upland Hills Health take pediatric care beyond protocol to the next level of accuracy and efficiency.
In general, dealing with pediatric patients in an emergency situation is more complex than with an adult patient. Simply put pediatric patients range in size from infant to adolescent. As the size of the child varies so does the dosage of medication, size of the equipment and supplies needed. In the split seconds when vital emergency care is provided Upland Hills Health’s colorful carts help caregivers to provide the best care.

Upland Hills Health receives cuddly soft donation

Retirement has kept Grace Hasburgh busy…but not too busy to think of others. Recently her love of quilting paid off for pediatric patients at Upland Hills Health. With fleecy soft fabric donated by many, Grace and a friend stitched up a colorful assortment of cozy soft blankets for little patients to enjoy and take comfort in. These “mini-quilts” will be used for pediatric patients that utilize Upland Hills Health emergency, in-patient or surgical services.
“What a wonderful gesture,” stated Patricia Lawson, Director of Marketing & Community Relations at Upland Hills Health, “we’re always looking for ways to enhance the patient experience—and Grace’s donation is a perfect example of how little caring touches can make a big difference.”
