In the face of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) global pandemic, ensuring that those we love have access to life saving healthcare services is more important than ever. UHH providers and staff are working tirelessly to help our community stay safe, informed and connected.
It's a concerning time for our communities. Schools are closed indefinitely. Businesses are closing or making significant changes to their business. And our hospital and clinics are dramatically reducing the services offered during this time. All of this is being done in an effort to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and to keep you safe.
These closures will stretch people - financially and otherwise. For UHH, the services temporarily suspended account for nearly 90% of its revenue. With this dramatic reduction in revenue, we are forced to reduce staff in order to ensure that we can continue to financially weather this storm. It was a decision that we did not come by lightly and one that hurts our hearts, more than you know.
In times like these, we value the partnership of our community members - we value you - more than ever. Your financial support has positioned UHH well to continue caring for our community members, when other rural hospitals are forced to close their doors.
Many people in our communities want to help, but don't know how. Like in any disaster, the best way to help is by making a financial contribution. Donations to the UHH Foundation COVID-19 Relief Fund will allow UHH to respond to emergency needs from physicians and staff members.
With the support of one another, we will get through this.
