An updated facility is essential to meet new challenges within the healthcare industry. Hospitals must provide efficient, high-quality healthcare with proven clinical outcomes. Commercial insurers and Medicare pay hospitals based on those outcomes. This is especially critical for the hospital’s success under recently enacted health reform (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act).
You’re right. We’ve done a great job keeping our hospital looking nice. The issues within our current building go beyond aesthetics. Our existing floorplan does not support efficient work flow, patient privacy concerns, and new building codes.
Yes. We, at Upland Hills Health (UHH), strive to exceed the most current standard of care to remain competitive within our service area. The remodeled facility will help us provide better patient care by increasing efficiency. It will also help attract and retain the most qualified physicians and healthcare providers who expect to work in updated healthcare environments.
As demonstrated by our history, UHH would not be here without the support of community members who extended themselves by providing financial support when it was most needed. In order to keep healthcare strong, competitive and local, this type of partnership is essential today more than ever.
While UHH will cover the majority of the $32 million cost for this project, we will approach the community for their financial support. We believe this partnership, this mutual investment, is a big part of what makes UHH extraordinary.
Upland Hills Health does not try to compete with Madison. Both urban and rural healthcare systems are needed to provide a full-spectrum of care, efficiently. UHH offers many of the same services offered in Madison. Physician specialists come to Upland Hills Health from practices in Madison. Our Emergency Department is staffed by Madison Emergency Physicians, our lab is supported by St. Mary’s Laboratory, Associated Pathologist Group, and Dane County Cytology Center and our diagnostic imaging is supported by the services of Madison Radiologists. Healthcare providers at UHH provide superior care that matches the larger facilities around us. The advantage UHH brings you is personal attention. Our size allows us to be attentive to your needs, and close to home.
Yes! We remodeled and built new spaces on our campus in 2002 and in 2009. These areas are functioning very well, just as we intended. They are not part of this remodel project. This time we are focusing on areas that are reaching 30+ years old. Maintaining a campus of this size means there are always areas that need attention.
Upland Hills Health is fortunate to partner with SSM. This partnership allows greater cost-saving, purchasing power and allows UHH to offer our community access to a wider network of Dean physicians and specialists. This is in addition to the UW and independent specialists whom we invite to our campus.
SSM has a 17% investment in UHH which gives our community access to network benefits, while still enabling us to retain our decision making power and remain an independent community hospital. The independence UHH maintains allows us to accept a wide variety of insurance plans. This makes UHH accessible to more people in our community, as well.
