With beautiful dark hair, and bright eyes, little Brecklyn Koch honored Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville bybeing the first baby born in the new birthing unit, which opened the week of September 8, 2019. Kegan and Kally Koch from Highland are the proud first-time parents.

Brecklyn was born the evening of September 12, weighing 8 lbs, 14 oz. Her mom, Kally, noted that gave her baby girl a very special and easy birthdate to remember. It’s a palindrome! This means her birthdate’s numerical sequence reads the same backward as forward when written 9-12-19.

Dr. Rachel Hartline was Kally’s doctor through her pregnancy, and will be Brecklyn’s doctor as well. Dr. Hartline and Dr. Jenifer Dankyi were the attending physicians when Brecklyn was brought into the world. Kally said, “Everything was really nice. They did a super job and were very organized and prepared even though the team had just moved into the new surgical suite.”

New mom Kally teaches Agriculture and is FFA Advisor and Seneca High School. Dad Kegan is a service technician at Ritchie Implement in Cobb.

Days later, Taylor and Caleb Rupnow of Gratiot welcomed the first baby boy born in the new birthing unit, on September 14. Dr. Sarah Fox was Taylor’s doctor and Wade was brought into the world by Dr. Fox and Dr. Timothy Raichle.
