Meet Barb Kolb, Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Barb enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. She has experience as a hospice social worker, grief counselor and in helping people develop coping skills needed to manage:
• anxiety
• trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• depression
• coping with stress and chronic health conditions
• dementia
• bi-polar disorder
• schizophrenia
• grief and loss
It is important to Barb to provide a safe environment where her clients feel supported and validated. Barb helps people build self-esteem and learn new ways to cope. Open communication lets clients identify stress and struggles, along with successes.
Her treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused treatment, and motivational interviewing. Barb also connects her clients to more specialized therapy and programming when needed. Her professional network of specialists is extensive.
Barb earned her Master’s Degree from Boston University and continues to expand her skills with trainings and education.
