Top 100Critical Access 2017

[Dodgeville]  Upland Hills Health was recently named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the United States. This designation is awarded by The National Rural Association’s Rural Health Policy Institute, iVantage Health Analytics, and the Chartis Center for Rural Health. As a top performing CAH, Upland Hills Health is recognized as being one of the very best of the 1,339 rural safety-net hospitals in the nation. Seven out of 58 critical access hospitals in Wisconsin made the list.

“Our entire UHH team: staff, physicians, board of trustees, volunteers, auxilians, and Foundation board members earned this recognition by striving for excellence as we serve our community. I am incredibly proud to serve with this amazing team. Several members of our community contacted me after learning of this designation, to say that this award reflects their experiences at UHH—high quality backed by caring spirits. It doesn’t get any better than that.” remarked Lisa Schnedler, President and CEO of Upland Hills Health.

Upland Hills Health Hospital scored in the top 100 of Critical Access Hospitals on iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength INDEX®. The INDEX is the industry’s most comprehensive rating of rural providers. The list of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals and more information about the study can be found at www.iVantageINDEX.com.

CAHs are located in rural areas, can have a maximum of 25 acute care inpatient beds, and provide 24-hour emergency services. The Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals play a key role in providing a safety net to communities across America. The INDEX measures them across eight pillars of hospital strength: Inpatient Share Ranking, Outpatient Share Ranking, Cost, Charge, Quality, Outcomes, Patient Perspectives, and Financial Stability.
