Cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs require a physician referral. Talk to your family doctor, pulmonologist, cardiologist or cardiac surgeon and ask if you qualify.
Most private insurance plans and Medicare cover cardiopulmonary rehab program. Our staff can help you determine if your insurance plan will cover the cost of the program.
One-hour exercise sessions are held in our cardiopulmonary exercise room. You will learn about your risk factors, stress reduction, medications, healthy eating and smoking cessation, if needed. Throughout the program, you may work with other patients, share experiences and motivate each other to achieve lifestyle changes.
Your cardiac and pulmonary rehab team includes registered nurses, exercise physiologists, respiratory therapists, and dietitians. This team is trained in exercise therapy to help you functionally and emotionally. Your team will closely monitor each step of your therapy to identify potential problems. We will share your progress with your physician.
