Upland Hills Health Honored for Commitment to Organ & Tissue Donation
Upland Hills Health has been recognized by UW Organ and Tissue Donation for its dedication to saving and improving lives through organ and tissue donation. As one of just 19 hospitals and medical centers acknowledged across the region, Upland Hills Health received the Excellence in Tissue Donation Award for its continued efforts in providing compassionate, life-affirming care to donor families and maximizing the gift of life.
UW Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD) is the federally designated organ procurement organization serving Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois. It presents four awards to hospitals and healthcare professionals annually for their leadership in organ and tissue donation.
The Excellence in Tissue Donation Award is presented to hospitals that achieve a tissue consent rate of 60% or higher—reflecting strong collaboration between care teams and donor families and a deep commitment to supporting patients through the donation process.
“Our team is deeply honored to receive this recognition from UW Organ and Tissue Donation,” said Lisa Schnedler, President and CEO of Upland Hills Health. “This award speaks to the compassion and professionalism of our staff and the strength of the partnerships we’ve built with our patients and their families. We are proud to be part of a mission that brings healing and hope through organ and tissue donation.”
“Hospitals are essential partners in the life-saving journey of organ donation through their compassionate care for donor heroes and the exceptional support of donor families,” said Michael Anderson, executive director of UW Organ and Tissue Donation. “We commend these hospitals and their incredible care teams for working so hard to honor the selfless generosity of organ donors and ensure their life-saving gifts reach those who need them most.”
