After experiencing a stroke that left her hospitalized for months, Cindi faced a daunting road to recovery. Below is our conversation with Cindi about how Patty helped her return home safely.
Q: What health issues prompted you to reach out to our nurse navigator?
Cindi: I had a stroke and spent eight months in the hospital recovering. When it was finally time to go home, I realized how overwhelming it was going to be. I needed help figuring out how to manage everything – my medications, my appointments, my care – while adjusting to being back home and taking care of myself again.
Q: What did Patty help you with?
Cindi: Everything. First, medications: she helped me get my list of prescriptions straight and made sure I understood what I needed. Then, she found me a pharmacy that could deliver my prescriptions right to my door, twice a week, with packaging I could open despite some lingering mobility issues from my stroke. Patty also helped me order special equipment to make it easier to move around at home after I lost some movement in my right arm. She also helped coordinate everything between my doctors and specialists, so I didn’t have to manage it all myself.
Q: Would you recommend our nurse navigator to others?
Cindi: Absolutely. She’s been a blessing in disguise – she’s the best thing I’ve come across in a long, long time. She gets every job done and is caring at the same time. She cares about how people feel. She could be my best friend.
