Upland Hills Health Recognized Among Nation’s Top Hospitals for Nurse Communication

Upland Hills Health has been named one of the top hospitals in the country for nurse communication, according to a newly released report from Becker’s Hospital Review. The recognition highlights Upland Hills Health’s 5-star rating, based on patient survey data collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The CMS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey asks patients about their care experience, including how well nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully, and treated them with courtesy and respect. Data was collected from October 2023 through September 2024.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the compassion and dedication our nursing teams bring to the bedside every day,” said Lisa Schnedler, President and CEO of Upland Hills Health. “At Upland Hills Health, patients are at the heart of everything we do. Earning the trust of our community by communicating with kindness, clarity, and respect is an achievement we are deeply proud of.”

Lynn Hebgen, Vice President of Nursing, added: “Clear communication is a cornerstone of safe, high-quality care. Our nurses take time to listen, to explain, and to make sure patients feel seen and understood. This honor validates the commitment our nursing staff makes to every patient, every time.”

Upland Hills Health was one of a select group of hospitals nationwide to receive a 5-star rating in nurse communication.
