Dodgeville, Wisconsin – September 4, 2026: Upland Hills Health held a ribbon cutting and grand opening for the community on August 25, 2026. The following day, the new Emergency Department officially opened to patients.
While Upland Hills Health’s commitment to care and patient outcomes has not changed, the entrance to the Emergency Department has. Patients and visitors should follow the directional signage on the Dodgeville Hospital Campus to access the new Emergency Department. Signs will direct drivers around the south side of the campus to the new Emergency Department entrance on the east side of the building.
As construction moves into the next phase, vehicles will no longer be able to access the north side of the building as they did when the former Emergency Department was located there. Patients and visitors are encouraged to review the new entrance and parking areas before arriving. Upland Hills Health has created a parking map, which is being shared and posted in several locations, to help patients and visitors navigate the campus.
The new Emergency Department allows Upland Hills Health to better serve patients now and in years to come. Over the past 20 years, Emergency Department patient volume has more than doubled, from approximately 7,000 to 15,000 patients annually. The completion of this project now provides patients with a larger, state-of-the-art Emergency Department designed to enhance comfort and care, as well as expanded imaging services, including ultrasound and mammography, and upgraded laboratory spaces.
The former Emergency Department and laboratory area encompassed approximately 13,500 square feet, while the new space encompasses approximately 21,500 square feet—an increase of nearly 60 percent.
