Upland Hills Health Awards Scholarships to Future Healthcare Professionals

Upland Hills Health and the Upland Hills Health Foundation are proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Health Career Scholarships. This year, five outstanding high school seniors from area schools were selected for their passion for health care and their commitment to serving their communities.

The 2025 scholarship recipients are:

Laci Lindsey, Mineral Point – Laci will pursue a degree in nursing from Edgewood College in Madison. Inspired by her family of medical professionals, Laci has a particular interest in pediatrics: “I have always had a strong connection with children and feel a deep sense of fulfillment when caring for them.”
Lakyn Holman, Montfort – Lakyn plans to attend Viterbo University in La Crosse with a major in communication disorders and sciences. She hopes to become a speech pathologist with an interest in working specifically with kids, in part because of her own experience. “I went to speech class when I was younger and it left a positive influence on me,” she says. “I want to help children gain confidence in themselves.” Lakyn also hopes to return home to southwest Wisconsin to make an impact on children in her hometown.
Parker Owens, Dodgeville – Parker will attend college at UW-La Crosse within its pre-pharmacy track, majoring in biology. Parker has worked locally as a pharmacy technician, further cementing his plans to one day become a pharmacist and benefit his community. He says he hopes to follow in his family’s footsteps, as several cousins have worked in the pharmacy industry.
Isabelle Coogan, Mineral Point – Isabelle plans to attend Southwest Wisconsin Technical College to become a radiography technician, with aspirations of one day working as a nuclear medicine technologist. She says she nurtured her passion for healthcare by working as a CNA. “I witnessed firsthand the actual difference healthcare professionals bring into individuals’ lives,” she says. “It wasn’t just about diagnosing or treating; it was about reaching out to patients, comforting them, and improving their quality of life.”

Chloe Johnson, Dodgeville – Chloe intends to enroll at Edgewood College to pursue a career in nursing. She has volunteered at Upland Hills Health throughout high school, and she comments on the care her grandmother received while staying there. “I am forever grateful for the professionals who dedicate their lives to helping others,” she says. “Someday, I hope to be somebody others can rely on to take good care of their loved ones.”

Lisa Schnedler, president and CEO of Upland Hills Health, congratulated the recipients and emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting the next generation of health care professionals.

“It is truly inspiring to see young people with such compassion and drive step into the world of healthcare,” Schnedler said. “These students represent the future of healthcare in our communities, and we are proud to support their journeys. We wish them — and all our local graduates — great success as they take their next steps.”
