Upland Hills Health Earns National Recognition for Quiet Environment—Again

For the second year in a row, Upland Hills Health has been recognized as one of the quietest hospitals in the nation based on patient experience.

Becker’s Hospital Review once again included Upland Hills Health on its annual list nationwide hospitals with a five-star quietness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The ranking stems from CMS’ Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, a standardized tool that measures patients’ perceptions of their care during recent hospital stays.

“Our back-to-back recognition is a powerful affirmation of the healing environment our team works hard to maintain,” said Lisa Schnedler, President and CEO of Upland Hills Health. “Rest is essential to recovery, and our staff makes that a priority.”

The most recent survey data covers patient experiences between July 2023 and June 2024. Hospitals earning the highest possible rating for quietness were those where patients consistently reported calm, restful nighttime environments.

Research from the National Institutes of Health supports the importance of a quiet hospital stay, citing improved rest and faster healing as outcomes of lower noise levels.
